Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a degree for Middle East TEFL jobs?
For work visa purposes, most GCC countries require a Bachelor’s degree (any subject). Without a degree, legal employment in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar is extremely difficult. Some language centres in less regulated environments may hire without a degree, but this creates visa complications. A TEFL certificate alone is not sufficient for legal employment β you need TEFL + degree as a minimum. See our TEFL without degree guide.
